  • It’s time to #ShowYourSchoolworkNYC! Today Ms. Nadler is sharing an English assignment from eighth grader Alexander Maldonado at College Point Collaborative #inQueens.

This semester, the class has been exploring questions about our shared future as a planet and a society. “Alexander responded to the prompt ‘Are we doomed if coral reefs perish?’,” Ms. Nadler explained.

“Students are building fundamental reading and writing skills,” says Ms. Nadler. “Alex's work stands out because he doesn't simply restate the line from text; instead, he wholly responds to what the line means, extracting from it phrases and words to expand upon.”
